Former Gannon Footballer Battles Vampires in “Twilight”
Gannon students have gone on to work in every field imaginable. Some even battle vampires.
Okay, maybe not for real, but on screen anyway.
Daniel Cudmore played football at Gannon in 2001. Now, he’s traded the football field for field of performance art. After years of working as a stunt double and even performing in the “X-Men” films, he’s appearing in a film being released this week: “Twilight: Eclipse.”
Cudmore stars in the film phenomenon as Felix, a Volturi guard who battles Edward Cullen through the last two movies in the saga.
Check out this article by goerie.com’s David Richards chats with Cudmore about his adventures in the “Twilight” universe and his time at Gannon.

Eternal Sunshine: GOOOAAAAAALLLLLL!

I may not have World Cup fever like the rest of the world, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been working on some goals of my own.
Ever since moving to Erie as a Gannon freshman, I’ve gone to see shows at the Erie Playhouse. I saw “Thoroughly Modern Millie” the week I got here and immediately set a goal: before I graduated, I was going to audition for the Playhouse.
Now – three years later – graduation is less than a year away. Knowing that time was running out, I finally went for my goal. I auditioned for the Playhouse’s productions of “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change,” and “Hairspray.”
How’d I do? Read on to find out.

Pulse GU: Sunbathing, Sightseeing and Secondhand Serenade
Hello! It’s been a while!
Summer is going great for me so far, I am definitely enjoying not having any homework or a million-and-one things to do, although as crazy as it may seem, I do find myself missing Gannon. My small farm town is nothing like Erie, and I do miss the city.
This past week, I won tickets from our local radio station to go to a meet and greet with Secondhand Serenade and Cartel. It was an amazing experience! My best friend introduced me to their music at the end of the school year and we saw them in Syracuse at the end of finals week. I fell in love with their music and finally got to meet them and get a picture with them last Friday! I thought I died and went to heaven.

The Numbers Guy: Caddyshack’s Got Nothing on My Summer
It’s summertime back in sunny Elma, N.Y., and I’m trying to enjoy it the most I can. This summer, I got a job doing maintenance at Crag Burn Golf Club, and I spend a lot of time there – upwards of 40 hours a week!
Other than that, I have been trying to catch up with friends and hit the gym as often as my tired bones allow me. My friend will be coming home after two weeks of drill in the Coast Guard, so the weekend should be full of gym visits and late night food runs – it’s so nice to have time to spend with friends.

Hey everyone!
I’m sure that you are all as glad as I am that summer is finally here. Even though Gannon let out over a month ago, the summer weather is just now hitting.
Early last week I was drinking a cup of coffee on my balcony, watching a blue jay fly from branch to branch across the street. It was then that something hit me.

Student Voices: Orientation Advisers Share First-Year Must-Haves
As returning Gannonites and incoming freshmen alike begin preparing for the fall semester, we thought we’d take a moment to catch up with some of this summer’s orientation advisers to see what they relied on the most during their freshman year.
Landis Erwin, junior journalism communications major: “Something I couldn’t live without my freshman year was the card my parents and brother stuck inside my pillowcase before they left. It explained how proud they were of me and to enjoy every minute because this was the next stage of my life. Being very close with my family and suddenly not spending time with them regularly can be hard at times. |
