Kim’s Summer = Work, Intern, Beach, Repeat
Hey Guys!
I’m glad it’s summertime — I am happy to be done with classes for a few months. Junior year was definitely tough, but I learned so much in the past year and have really grown as a person and a future nurse.
I had two weeks of free time before I started my nursing internship at St. Vincent hospital and my second job at Lane Bryant in the mall. I absolutely love my job at Lane Bryant. I have never worked in retail before so I was a little nervous, but I am learning quickly and enjoy going to work.
I think I am going to love my internship as well.

A Dozen College Applications, One Place to Believe In
Welcome to Edge’s newest blog, “Sci-Guy.” Learn about life at Gannon from Matt Kridel, Edge’s new assistant editor and a sophomore biology / pre-med major.
My journey to Gannon started with a postcard.
It said, “Apply to the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) 4+4 program.” By this point, like many other high school seniors, I was sick of the application process (especially after applying to twelve other schools), and I had never heard of LECOM or Gannon. But at the urging of my father and encouraged by Gannon’s use of the Common Application, I applied.
Three visits, two interviews and one acceptance letter later, I was officially a student at Gannon University.

Prep U for GU: Start the Semester at Preview GU
For some people, nothing is scarier than the unfamiliar. We get comfortable in our high school surroundings, and moving on into college can be difficult. That’s why Gannon hosts a three-day event at the beginning of each school year called Preview GU. It’s basically a crash course on everything Gannon.
And when I say everything, I mean everything.

VIDEO: Fr. Shawn Clerkin Announces 2011-2012 Theatre Season
There’s always something new on the Schuster Theatre stage. The 2010-2011 season featured Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” Brecht’s “Galileo,” Shepard’s “A Lie of the Mind” and Lerner and Loewe’s “Camelot.”
Those are some tough acts to follow, but next year’s season has some real heavyweights, too. Edge caught up with the always funny Rev. Shawn Clerkin, director of theatre at Gannon, to see what’s shaping up at the Schuster in the 2011-2012 season.

Prep U for GU: Packing Essentials

Packing for college can be hectic and stressful, especially if you’re as disorganized as I tend to be. I remember as I was packing my room went from a typical bedroom to something that closely resembled a disaster zone. Hopefully my advice can help you prevent that scene from occurring in your room.
