During your first few weeks on campus, you’ll find that there is so much more to do at Gannon than sitting in your dorm room or watching TV. There are many clubs and organizations you can join on campus that can cure any case of boredom.

When you first get to campus and get settled in, posters and fliers for all sorts of clubs will appear everywhere. They will usually give the time, date and location for the first meeting and a contact for any questions. Don’t be afraid to ask a question about an organization if you have one.

If you want to experience the majority of Gannon’s activities at once, the annual Activities Fair is held on Friendship Green and A.J.’s Way or in the Hammermill Center. Representatives from every club and organization sit at tables with all the information you could ask for. You can talk to members of each group, ask questions and decide what you think you’d be interested in joining. It’s a great way to figure out your plans for the semester (and find some free candy!).

Two of the biggest organizations on campus are a huge presence at the Activities Fair, Activities Programming Board and Student Government Association. Both of these clubs help to make Gannon’s campus a better place by putting the opinions of the student body first.  Also, if you want to get involved in Greek life on campus, all of Gannon’s social (and honor) sororities and fraternities are there for you to get started. Every club has a place at the Activities Fair, from these large organizations to smaller clubs like Model United Nations, the Foreign Language Club and the Ski Club.

If you’re interested in playing a sport, Gannon offers NCAA teams in many different sports. If you want to play on a less strenuous level, the Carneval Athletic Pavilion offers a different intramural sport tournament every month. These sports range from racquetball to volleyball and are played in the CAP or on the field next to the building. It’s a great way to bond with your friends and get to have fun playing a sport you love or cheering your friends on.

On campus, it’s so easy to get involved in everything you want if you just look around. There’s a club or group for everyone here and you’ll soon find your home on campus.
