Wow, is it really the end of the semester already? I’ve had my fair share of long days and weeks, but time has flown. I’ve had my nose in my books for the entire semester only to look up and find it’s Christmas break. And I have never been happier! Okay, that’s an overstatement, but I am pretty happy for break. I’m sure that all of you are pretty happy that Christmas break is just right around the corner too.

I hope everyone has an awesome break, because it is well deserved. After seeing students going to the library for hours upon end, waking up early for those last couple of tests and then final exams and the tired faces on everyone, I am certain that everyone needs a break. My body is almost screaming at me to slow down! But there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. However, even though there is a long break coming up, it’s a great time to prepare for the next semester.

Probably the most important thing to do is to make sure that you order your books.  I try to sell my old books that I don’t want and get all of my books within the weeks we get off for Christmas break.  That way, you don’t have to worry about getting them during the beginning of the next semester. You also don’t want to forget about getting new school supplies. At the end of the semester, all of my folders and notebooks have been used and worn out so I definitely need new ones.

If you haven’t already, it is probably also a good idea to get some more winter clothes for going back to school. Erie isn’t exactly known for its warm, sunny winters. The beginning of the next semester will be cold and snowy, so it’s a good idea to prepare for what winter will be throwing at you. Don’t forget any gloves and/or hats, just in case the Erie weather gets really cold and bitter.

Also, don’t forget to stay in touch with your friends as well. I have met a lot of awesome people at Gannon and I’m going to miss my friends here during Christmas. Skype is an awesome tool to stay in touch by video chatting. If you haven’t used Skype by now, I would suggest giving it a try. And don’t forget to wish all of your friends a Merry Christmas.

Thanks for reading and for those of you who play video games, I’ll be playing Skyrim during my break.

Merry Christmas!
