For Gannon’s environmental science majors, there may be no more valuable resource than the Environaut.

The 53-foot steel-hulled boat is equipped with sonar, radar, an underwater camera, a generator as well as an enclosed laboratory. And this floating science lab isn’t exclusively available to students in the environmental science program. Those enrolled in related courses – biology, zoology and field ecology, to name a few – also have the opportunity

Aboard the Environaut, students receive hands-on experience in areas such as water chemistry, lake and air pollution, population dynamics and acid rain – things they only learn about in the classroom. With Presque Isle Bay and Lake Erie so close by, why not take advantage?
