The year is coming to a rapid close, and it’s nearly time to start reflecting on what we’ve learned. This can be a significant question. What did I learn in my classes? I’ll find out when I take my finals. What did I learn from the shows I’ve performed at the Schuster Theatre? More than […]
Ask anyone who’s ever been to a concert – there is truly nothing in the world like live music. Dim lights, pumping sound and tons of friends around is a winning combination. At Gannon and in Erie, there is no shortage of live music; we have the Erie Philharmonic, the Warner Theatre, Gannon’s own band […]
Welcome back to my blog! As some of you know, in addition to teaching, I’m also involved with Gannon’s theater productions. For every production at our Schuster Theatre, there is a day devoted to that particular show: we call this “Tech Day.” Tech Day is usually from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on a Saturday […]
Hi everyone! How’s it going? Thanks for checking out my latest blog. I was thinking the other day about my time at Gannon University and how I decided to come here.
“The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” may have closed, but the things I learned while doing it haven’t left me quite yet. That’s something amazing about the performances I do here at Gannon; they never really leave even after the set is torn down and the cast disperses, and that’s awesome.
Gannon offers more than 75 different clubs and organizations for students to get involved with on campus. Some of these are specific to certain majors, but most are not. Organizations like 90.5 WERG, the student-run radio station on campus, or The Gannon Knight, Gannon’s student-run weekly newspaper, are open to all majors as long as […]

Check back for Emily’s updates about academics, life on campus and preparing for a career in engineering, or e-mail her at wright040@gannon.edu. Welcome to my new blog! As an electrical engineering major I […]
Talent, literature, and appeal were the driving factors behind The Rev. Shawn Clerkin’s choosing of “Nevermore” as the most recent musical production on the Schuster Theater stage. Nevermore is a musical based on the last few hours Edgar Allan Poe spent alive. It incorporates many of his works into the show as well as the […]
Another fall break has come and gone, complete with the obligatory ‘lets-do-lunch’ texts to every person you ever knew in high school, the time with family and nearly-full week of ZERO classes. That last part is probably my favorite. But while I spent most of the time trying to just recharge my batteries, I also […]
Last week, Edge staffers went backstage at Gannon’s Schuster Theatre to catch up with cast members of “Dancing at Lughnasa.” They’re actors, but they’re also students. In addition to learning lines and blocking, they’ve got to study, too. So, we wanted to know: “When you’re not rehearsing, where’s your favorite place to study?”
