Steel 12 is located in the heart of Perry Square, which is right next to the Waldron Campus Center.

With Super Bowl Sunday just around the corner, many proud Steelers fans are itching for some real “Pittsburgh” food to prep for the big game (Okay… I guess Packers fans can have some, too). But when you think of the black and gold and huge sandwiches, Erie is not the first place that comes to mind. At least, that’s not what I thought as a native Pittsburgher.  But when you first step inside Erie’s Steel 12 Grub & Chug, you’re stepping into Steeler country.

Steel 12 serves Pittsburgh-style sandwiches complete with coleslaw and French-fries on the bun. This is also a great place to go if you’re not quite sure if you want a burger, sub, wings or pizza. Steel 12 has all those munchies and much more. Everything is delicious, whether you’re hungry for an Italian hoagie or a pizza (either to go or by the slice) with extra pepperoni. The sandwiches and hoagies are huge, so there’s usually enough food to take home and save for later.

Steel 12 serves great freshly-cut French fries, along with a wide variety of other fried foods. Everything at Steel 12 is pretty reasonably priced, too.  Most meals, including a drink, are under $12, and no matter what you decide to order you can use GU Gold, Gannon’s debit card-like currency system that works right off a Gannon ID.

Steel 12 is located at 24 N. Park Row, just minutes away from Gannon’s residence halls. Steel 12 is open 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Monday – Thursday and 10 a.m. – 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays – just in case you need a late night snack – and they deliver too.

Steel 12 is a great place to hang out with your friends and grab dinner. The food is great and provides the comfort that sometimes only comes from a good pizza.

Still hungry? Check out the Sidewalk Café, another nearby restaurant that takes GU Gold.
