A lot of new experiences come with being a freshman in college. Since we just had Advising Day last week, I’ve been looking back at what I’ve done in my first two semesters here at Gannon. It’s hard to believe I already picked classes for my sophomore year – I feel like I just came to GU a month ago.

Time goes by so fast up here. You go week to week waiting to catch up on sleep or find time to work on that project you’ve been putting off when suddenly you’re finished with midterms and your professors are talking about final projects.

It’s definitely strange to hear people – especially my older friends – talking about their plans for this summer. Many of us are searching for the perfect summer job, but some are staying in Erie to take classes or participate in some of the other things that happen on campus during the summer. A few of my very close friends are remaining in Erie this summer, so I’m sure that I’ll be back up to visit at least once or twice.

I’m not ready for my freshman year to be over. I don’t want to leave Gannon and all of my friends behind when I go back to Pittsburgh over the summer. However, I know that I’ll be back and ready to work in the fall, just as I was this year.

This summer will involve a lot of work – and definitely some fun – as I finally get to see the high school friends who I’ve kept in touch with. Also, this summer will surely be a bit hectic as I finish all of my paperwork to study abroad. If all goes well, this time next year I will be blogging from Paris, while I spend the spring semester there – I’m so excited!

I hope your last month or two of school goes well! Good luck with the rest of your college planning!
