Introducing Edge’s newest blog, “Fresh Ideas,” by Brianna Woods, Class of 2015. Brianna is a theatre and communication arts major from Indiana, Pa.

Since you’re reading my blog entitled “Fresh Ideas,” you’ve probably come to Edge to gain perspective on what it is like to be a college freshman here at Gannon. Whether you’re a prospective student or a college senior just wondering what goes on in our minds, you’ve come to the right place. I’ll give you full disclosure and complete access into my mind without any censorship.

If there is something that you have a question about and you would like to ask me, feel free to leave a reply at the bottom of the page. I’m in the field of communications so I love feedback.

Now you’re thinking, “She seems like just some chatty girl that talks too much.” However, you’re still reading, so you must be intrigued. Well, let me banish your fears by telling you that I am not like that.

I am a small town girl from little Indiana, Pa. In my high school, I was ranked fourth in my class. However, when I tell people that my graduating class had a mere 96 individuals in it and was surrounded by corn fields on all sides, it seems to lose its effect.

The sports I love to watch are hockey and hockey. I’m a Pens fan until I die. The list of sports I actually like to play is slightly shorter. I’ve taken dance lessons since I could walk and I’ve been singing since before I could talk. If you were wondering who that girl is that’s always singing show tunes in the shower, you can stop wondering. It’s me!

I am a theatre and communication arts major here at Gannon and loving it! I can see some people saying in their heads, “Oh, she’s one of those artsy people.” Let me tell you that I’m not some crazy radical, but I do have some pretty interesting views to be voiced. After all, theatre people are in the business of telling stories.
