The semester is well underway and we’re beginning to feel the time crunch. We have to remember to drag ourselves out of the library and shut the books for at least an hour. To help, here’s a list of things going on in and around campus this month.

– The Activities Programming Board (APB) has invited Dr. Mark Auslander to speak about the impact of service learning on the community on Thursday, Feb. 9. The presentation is part of a tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr. and a celebration of Black History Month.

– Craving a bit of art in your life? Check out Anton Chekhov’s “The Cherry Orchard” presented by the Schuster Theatre. The show runs Feb. 9-11 and Feb. 16-19. All shows are at 8 p.m. with the exception of Feb. 19, which will begin at 2 p.m.

– Get your musical fill for free at the Erie Chamber Orchestra’s “Guess the Composer” concert at the United Methodist Church on Sassafras Street. It will take place Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m.

– Are you a Gannon student with a younger sibling who wants a taste of college life? Bring them to Gannon for “Little Sibs Weekend,” which will include special events for you and your little brother or sister. All events will take place Friday, Feb. 10 through Sunday, Feb. 12

– Valentine’s Day is usually celebrated with cards and chocolate – which is all well and good – but how would you like to surprise your valentine with a live song? Gannon’s honors theatre fraternity, Alpha Psi Omega, is selling “singing valentines.” Members will travel around campus and the downtown Erie area, delivering live performances to the loved ones of your choice. Prices start at $5 for students. For more information contact Ryann Beaumont at beaumont002@gannon.edu.

This is only a taste of what Gannon has to offer this month. For more, connect to Gannon on Facebook.
