Melanie Evans, a senior psychology major, works as the student assistant in the counseling center.

How did you obtain your job in the counseling center?
I got the job by first looking at the financial aid website and browsing through all the available work study jobs. I then completed an application and an interview.

What’s your favorite part of the job?
My favorite part is writing the monthly “Potty Press.” I have the freedom to write about any topic that relates to mental health.

What’s your least favorite part of the job?
I don’t think I have a least favorite part. Dr. Steve and Dr. Lori are very flexible and fun to work with.

What are your future goals and how will this job help you achieve those goals?
I will be attending graduate school for psychology next year, so having experience working with mental health professionals will help me a lot.
