The Office of Admissions is seeking highly motivated Gannon students to work for Edge, our online magazine geared toward current students, prospective students and their families. The purpose of Edge is to share news, information and insight on the Gannon experience.
Staff contributors, under the guidance of the editorial board, will generate one piece of original content for every two hours worked per week. This may include written features, blogs, photography and/or videography, depending on the contributor’s skill set and the direction of the editorial board. Contributors will be hired for between 2-10 office hours per week, and are expected to attend weekly staff meetings.
Qualifications: The ideal candidates will demonstrate:
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Effective communications skills
• Leadership experience
• A background in journalism, writing, editing, photography, video production, public relations and/or communications
• A strong desire to promote Gannon University to prospective students and their families
• Completion of at least two semesters at Gannon
Time Commitment: While some work can and will be done outside of the office, there will be time each week scheduled for you to attend office hours here in the Admissions building. Please include with your application a copy of your class/commitment schedule, citing hours during the week you would be available.
Management: typically between 6-12 hours per week. Contributor: between 2-10 hours per week.
