Guatemala – Day 4

Guatemala – Day 4

03/05/25 – Guatemala 2025

Today we started out with breakfast at La Biblioteca. We had dish duty afterwards, so we took care of all the dishes and cleaned the tables.

Today was Ash Wednesday, we attended a local service commemorating the event. After that, our group went to the local school which is supported by the mission. Here, we all played with children of all ages during recess and joined in on the final lessons of the day in various classrooms.

After lunch at La Biblioteca, we attended a presentation about how local coffee is made, hosted by Café Juan Ana. We all got a chance to try different coffee variants, as well as buy some coffee from the Café Juan Ana shop.

Finally, we reflected on differences in environmental sustainability practices in the US and Guatemala. It was a very insightful discussion, which provided insights into what sustainability related issues are going poorly and well in each country.

All in all, another excellent day in San Lucas.
