Hello from Merida! We began the day with service. Our main project was painting a stage at the daycare and cleaning off the roof of the after school program building. For the stage, part of our group primed and painted the stage white, which was previously blue. The other part of our group swept and power washed debris off the roof so that it could be waterproofed.  During that time, a reporter from the local newspaper came by to interview the mission director. Sae and Kylene were photographed in action and are featured in the newspaper. 

At the end of our service day, we discovered a stowaway under our van. Mia rescued a little white kitten, who we named JJ, or José Junior, after our guide José. 

Later, we cleaned up and went out to dinner at a restaurant in downtown Merida. Afterwards, we had a nice stroll and took in the beauty of downtown Merida before turning in for the night.
