We started our day at 9 a.m. with breakfast and visiting with the house members. Then, we took an uber to the center of Queretaro, to see the history.
A member of El Arca lead us through the city to explore many of the monuments. Our first stop was the Queretaro letters, we enjoyed taking photos and soaking up the sun. Our next stop was the Indian statue in the middle of the shops. We spent some time roaming the shops and picking out souvenirs to bring back home. After shopping, our accompanier from El Arca took us to a popular taco restaurant to enjoy some lunch.
On our journey to the church in the center of the city, we came across a traditional religious dance that involved a sacrifice for the church. We enjoyed seeing a glimpse of their culture and traditions. On the other side of the church, there was an art museum to explore. There were many unique paintings and sculptures that represented their culture.
We continued on our journey to the arches of Queretaro or Acueducto de Queretaro. We soaked up the view and the history of this historical landmark that is one of the largest aqueducts in Mexico. After the arches it was time to starting heading back to El Arca, but on our way we made a couple stops. We made a stop at a grocery store to find some fun snacks and fresh fruit. From the store we took an uber back to El Arca for dinner with the community members, we spent the rest of our day visiting with the community members and getting to know more about them.
Once the community members went to bed we reflected on our and day and discussed charity versus justice.
