Author and Gannon University alumnus Luke Marusiak will be in Erie Monday, July 8th, for a book signing at the Barnes & Noble Bookstore located at 5909 Peach St. Marusiak, a 2012 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award Quarterfinalist, will be signing copies of his novels, “Marx & Ford,” “Loud & Clear,” and “Fear & Hope” which comprise the first three of the six books of his “Good Fight Series.”
A 1984 Gannon University graduate with a degree in electrical engineering, Marusiak’s writings are inspired by his life growing up in Western Pennsylvania, attending Gannon, working in the Silicon Valley and seven years in the Army, including a deployment to Iraq as a member of the 1st Infantry Division during the Gulf War, Operation Desert Storm.
He has resided in the Silicon Valley of California since the early 1990s working as an executive at companies that produce semiconductors, hard drive media, and vacuum chamber systems. A native of Reynoldsville, Pa., and a graduate of DuBois Central Catholic High School, Marusiak also earned a master’s degree in teleprocessing science from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1989.
He and his wife Diana (Kroemer), a 1982 Gannon graduate, continue to reside in California and they have one adult son, David.
Marusiak will be available from 6-9 p.m., including a reception and signing from 6-7 p.m. and a 20-minute presentation of his works at 7 p.m. A portion of all Barnes & Noble bookstore proceeds from participating customers during the event will benefit literacy programs in Erie through the Erie-Gannon Alliances to Improve Neighborhood Sustainability (Erie-GAINS) initiative.
