Christmas time means Christmas cheer, and if you’re looking for some holiday-themed entertainment around Erie, you’re in luck.

Like theatre? The Erie Playhouse and Warner Theatre have you covered with some Christmas classics. The Erie Playhouse will present “Elf” through Jan. 4. Check out dates and times here. The Playhouse will also hold its New Year’s Eve Gala concert on Dec. 31 at 7:30 p.m. There will be a performance of the Tony Award winner “Nine in Concert.”

The Warner Theatre will show Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker,” a true Christmas classic that’s sure to bring out the Christmas spirit in you. Performances are Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. More information is available here.

Are movies more your speed? The Erie Movie House will show vintage Christmas films, including “Mr. Magoo’s Christmas Carol,” “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “Tom and Jerry in a Night Before Christmas” and “Santa Conquers the Martians.” Admission is $5 for adults and $1 for children under 10. Maybe you’d rather watch a movie about the winter wonders of nature. On Saturday, the Tom Ridge Environmental center will present “The Wonders of the Arctic,” a film exploring the largely uninhabited frontier of the arctic. For more info, call814-838-4123 or check its event page.
