BlacKkKlansman takes place in the early 1970s where Ron Stallworth, played by John David Washington, is the first African-American detective to serve in the Colorado Springs Police Department. Faced with issues of discrimination, Stallworth is eager to defy the odds and rise to the top of his force.

Even after being judged and ridiculed the young detective boldy embraces his duties as a police officer, and pursues a life threatening mission to bring down the Ku Klux Klan. Along the way are many familiar faces to Hollywood like Alec Baldwin, Topher Grace and many more.

To help strengthen his chase, Stallworth recruits an experienced cop from his station to assist him in the case. Flip Zimmerman, played by Adam Driver, apprehensively accepts the offer.

Working alongside each other, Stallworth and Zimmerman become an unstoppable underdog duo, as Zimmerman is also faced with discrimination, but for being Jewish. However, regardless of their strength, the team encounters a series of unexpected twists and turns that change the course of their lives forever.

Included in the soundtrack of the film is a variety of oldies to instill feelings of the 70s. BlacKkKlansman is an R-rated film, so it should be viewed with discretion. This dark comedy/drama is brought to you by Spike Lee and the makers of the Academy-Award winning Get Out.
