March Madness is upon us, and that means brackets. We here at Edge decided to get in on the fun and fill out a bracket. But by “we here” I mean me, contributor Adam N. Miller. I only say this so that when I am inevitably very wrong the blame rests on me and not all of Edge. I like to think I know a thing or two about sports, but college basketball is not my forte. I try my best to keep up with as many sports as possible, but hockey is really my first love.

Despite my lack of expertise, I made my picks, evidenced above. As a native Pittsburgher whose brother attended University of Pittsburgh, it took all of my better judgement to avoid picking Pitt to win more games (I gave them one win, and I’m not even sure I should’ve done that).  Elsewhere on the bracket I picked based on how recognizable the name of the school was and what I gathered from one night of SportsCenter and some late night Google searching.

The result of this melding of research and guesstimation is a Final Four of Oklahoma, Kansas, North Carolina, and Michigan State, the latter of which is my National Champion pick. I have to admit to being a little uncertain with a lot of these picks. I have a few upsets on the board but most of my choices fall on the safe side, or at least what I think the safe side is. I especially don’t know about this whole not picking Kansas to win thing. Most predictions I’ve seen have them winning the whole thing, but in an attempt to set myself apart, I opted for the Spartans. We’ll see how that one works out for me.

Feel free to praise and or ridicule my choices; whichever seems more fitting. Best of luck to all your die-hard NCAA Basketball fans out there who filled out a bracket, and while you’re at it, check out my bracket for the women’s tournament and go fill your own out as well.
