Gannon students love clubs.

We’re not talking night clubs. We’re talking “Knight Clubs,” our new feature devoted to Gannon’s 60+ student clubs and organizations.

According to campus legend, if you say the Greek letter beta in an empty lab three times at night, Charles Darwin will appear.

OK, that’s a lie. But if you do say beta three times on the second floor of Zurn, odds are anyone around you will know what you’re talking about.

Beta Beta Beta — also known as Tri-Beta — is the national biology honor society.

Students in Tri-Beta participate in biology-themed activities outside of class, including lectures, lab activities and meetings with other chapters. Gannon’s chapter, Theta Omega, is nationally ranked, having won the Lloyd M. Berthoff Award 13 of the past 17 years.

And like most Gannon University clubs, you don’t have to be a biology major to join. All it takes is a 3.0 GPA in all of your bio classes and a love of science.
