TL;DR: Twenty years after competing for the national team in the Pan-American games herself, GU’s Elizabeth Darling, DPT, is heading to the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. Darling’s job is to help design stretches and exercises  that help Team USA’s gymnasts perform better and reduce their risk of injuries.

 

Erie 366: Harry Potter coloring contest at Gannon University

TL;DR: Community kids got the chance to participate in a Harry Potter coloring contest – as well as enjoy other games, HP-themed snacks and more – during the August 1st release party for “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” at the GU Bookstore.

 

Gannon hosts Criminal Investigation Camp

TL;DR: (VIDEO) Students engaged in hands-on training experiences this summer during Gannon’s Criminal Investigators Camp. Participants learned surveillance techniques, CSI tactics and evidence procedures as they spent time solving a real life criminal case under the guidance of current and former FBI agents.

 

Gannon’s Hamlet, Fortinbras make for perfect companions

TL;DR: This year’s annual Shakespeare Summer Nights shows – “Hamlet” directed by Jessica Flock and “Fortinbras” directed by Alaina Manchester – featured 13 community actors and vibrantly took over the beautiful and scenic Lake Erie Arboretum at Frontier Park for two weeks.

TL;DR: Gannon alumni Brandon Wiley has joined the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Erie as a counselor after earning his bachelor’s and master’s degrees here. Wiley still continues his work as the founder of Opened Eyes, Erie – a counseling center offering diversity awareness services to local schools and businesses.

Temporary Library Takes Shape at Gannon University
