Advertising is everywhere. From the commercials you see on TV, to billboards on the side of the road, there’s not really much space that isn’t devoted to ads. Advertising is a part of life, whether you’re referencing it in a professional or personal sense.

Because of this, having basic knowledge of advertising and promotions could come in handy, no matter what your major is. This is why Gannon students created the Advertising and Promotions Club.

New on campus this year, students from advertising and communications majors formed an Advertising and Promotions Club. The club is open to students in any major who want to learn more about the skills necessary to advertise successfully. The club plans to have workshops and speakers during the year, along with the possibility of attending conferences, and working with local professional organizations.

The Advertising and Promotions Club plans to focus on the many facets of the industry, including marketing, public relations, communications and social media. One of the future goals of the organization is to provide assistance to other organizations, clubs and community groups with promotional materials such as posters, flyers or social media blasts. Through this type of collaboration, members will gain real-world experience while working alongside their friends.

The next meeting of the Advertising and Promotions Club will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 11:00 a.m. in Beyer 211. Contact Alex Bohman (bohman001) for more information
