Dr. Keith Taylor, pictured above with daughter, Abigail, and wife Mary Jean, will begin serving as president on July 1. Abigail Taylor is a sophomore in Gannon's physician assistant program.

Gannon’s incoming freshman class won’t be the only people adjusting to a new role this fall. Keith Taylor, Ph.D., Gannon’s current provost and vice president for academic affairs, will begin serving as president on July 1.

Erie Bishop Most Rev. Donald W. Trautman, chairperson of the Gannon University Board of Trustees, made the announcement this morning. Bishop Trautman said “During the six years Dr. Taylor has been provost and vice president for academic affairs at Gannon, he has been instrumental in implementing many of the successful programs and initiatives of the University. The Search Committee and the Board of Trustees felt that the continuity he brings to Gannon’s ongoing transformation made him the strongest candidate for the presidency.”

“Gannon University is a special place with exceptional and dynamic students, faculty and staff,” Taylor said. “I am extremely grateful for the support of the Board of Trustees and I’m excited about leading this great University into the future.”

“Higher education has been my vocation and passion for decades, and my heart is firmly committed to Gannon,” Taylor added.
