Benjamin Reed is a biomedical major and brother of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He is from Sherman, NY and is in his in his final year at Gannon University. He is a lover of superheroes and always manages to bring smiles to his friends’ faces.

Ben’s bright disposition and open-mindedness may come from his mother, Susan Reed, who inspires him greatly. “She always welcomes and cares for people even if she doesn’t know them well or they annoy her,” said Ben. “She sticks to her morals  and values regardless of what others think.”

Ben’s relationship with his mother grew stronger with time. Being a long-time Marvel fan, he recalls a time when he was about 11 years old and his mother took him to the movie theater to see Iron Man.

“She suffered through the movie so I could watch,” Ben said. After the movie, she told him that she loved it. Now, it is a tradition for the two to see every Marvel movie in together in theaters.

“That is how I show her I appreciate her,” said Ben. “I take her to dinner and the new Marvel movie.”

“She has been through hell and back raising an over-active diabetic and I can never pay her back for her efforts, but I am going to spend the rest of my life trying.”
