Edge is Back!

You may be wondering where we went! With the COVID-19 epidemic changing our lives, things have been very uncertain for us. Luckily, we have gotten the opportunity to make a comeback!

Edge is back guys, and we are so excited that we get the chance to create content for you all again! We will be reviving our Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and other social media accounts!

To start off I will just be giving you some random fun facts about fall, seeing as this is our fall semester and Halloween is right around the corner! So, here it is! Four fun facts about the fall season!

  1. People used to wear Halloween costumes to hide from ghosts

In the Celtic tradition people used to believe that spirits roamed the earth on Halloween. Wearing a disguise was believed to help you hide from these spirits. Nowadays it is just the fun tradition we know today!

2. The word “pumpkin” first showed up the fairytale Cinderella

The pumpkin we know today used to be called “gros melons”. This was a French term which translated into English as “pompions”. Pumpkins didn’t get their name until the 17th century.

3. Pumpkins are grown on every continent –

Except Antarctica!

4. People born in the fall live longer

A study in the Journal of Aging Research found that babies born during the autumn months are more likely to live to 100 than those born during the rest of the year.

Their study found that 30 % of US centenarians born during 1880-1895 were born in the autumn months. Crazy!
