The Shenango Valley Catholic School System has named Gannon University alumnus the Rev. Michael P. Allison as its president, effective July 7th.

The system includes three schools located in Hermitage, Pa.: Kennedy Catholic High School, Kennedy Catholic Middle School and Blessed John Paul II Elementary School.

A native of Erie, Allison graduated from Gannon in 1981 with a bachelor’s degree in English. He also earned his Master of Education degree in curriculum and instruction from Gannon in 2004. His other degrees including a master’s degree theology and a master’s of divinity from St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary in Boynton Beach, Fla.

Prior to his appointment as the president of the Shenango Valley Catholic School System, Allison served as pastor of the Church of Beloved Disciple Parish in Grove City, Pa., and a was a part-time teacher at Kennedy Catholic High School.
