As students at Gannon have left to go home to their families, I would like to take a minute to reflect. This year has been quite an amazing one, despite being so busy. This year, I started working at the Gannon Edge, which has opened a door for so many opportunities for me to grow in the workplace. I have taken courses that I am extremely passionate about with professors who share that same passion. I have met so many lovely people who have helped me through the hard times that I faced this year.

At the Gannon Edge, I got to work on developing new skills and improving as a writer. I got to work on putting a whole magazine together with everyone else in the office, which is one of the coolest things that I have gotten to be a part of. To see the production of the magazine from start to finish was an amazing experience that taught me so much.

I met some of my closest friends and met an amazing team to work with. Without my friends, my life would be so much harder. I know that no matter what happens, I am never alone. I have an amazing boyfriend and such caring friends who have been through my side through the year of 2018.

I challenge everyone else to think this Christmas – what are you thankful that happened in 2018? Remember that Jesus is the reason for the season. Take time to tell everyone in your life that you love them, and take time to thank Jesus for all that you’ve had this year.

The year is winding down, and I am so thankful for everything and everyone in my life this year. To all of my friends, classmates, faculty, and staff – happy holidays! I cannot wait to make 2019 another great year.
