Today was our first day doing service with the amazing people in the Diné (Navajo) community. We focused on clearing debris and mud from an irrigation channel that was clogged. Throughout the course of the day, we connected with the Earth through the physical labor. For dinner, we enjoyed a home cooked traditional meal of fry bread, blue corn mush, and lamb stew with tea. Then we climbed Purple Mountain for a breathe taking view! We concluded our day by learning about the beautiful Diné language and having time for reflection.
