Both Gannon swim teams are among others receiving votes in the first College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Swimming and Diving national rankings released Thursday afternoon.

The University of California San Diego is the top-ranked women’s team. Grand Canyon (Ariz.), Drury (Mo.), the University of Incarnate Word (Texas) and Wayne State (Mich.) completed the top five.

The University of Tampa (Fla.), Queens (N.C.), Florida Southern, Grand Valley State (Mich.) and West Chester (Pa.) rounded out the top 10.

The Gannon women’s team was just outside the top 25, being is one of seven teams listed among others receiving votes. In addition to a 4-3 dual-meet record, the Lady Knights finished first at the Westminster (Pa.) Relay Meet on October 26. The squad has recorded 46 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying times during its first five events.

Florida Southern sits No. 1 in the men’s national rankings. Grand Canyon (Ariz.), the University of California San Diego, Drury (Mo.) and the University of Incarnate Word (Texas) are tabbed two through five.

Grand Valley State (Mich.), the University of Indianapolis, Queens (N.C.), Wayne State (Mich.) and Wingate (N.C.) completed the top 10.

The Gannon men’s team was one of eight programs listed among others receiving votes. The Golden Knights are off to a 3-2 dual-meet record while adding a second-place finish at the October 26 Westminster (Pa.) Relay Meet. The men’s squad has recorded 57 PSAC-qualifying times this season.

Both Gannon swim teams return to action Saturday, November 17 at the Kenyon Quad-Meet. The events included Gannon, Kenyon, Grove City and Case Western Reserve. The first event is scheduled for 1 p.m.
