Gannon University welcomed Tibetan Buddhist monks of the Gaden Shartse Monastery on Thursday Oct. 24 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the A.J. Palumbo Academic Center, room 1200.

They presented a dharma talk on lovingkindness, one of the foundational practices of Tibetan Buddhism. A question and answer session will followed.

Gaden Shartse Monastic College is situated amid lush green hills and jungle in the remote countryside of southern India. It was founded in 1969 to re-establish one of the great monastic traditions of Tibet. The monastery and college are part of the Gelug lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, which is headed by His Holiness the Fourteenth Dalai Lama. On their many tours, the Gaden Shartse monks share their culture and teach practices and paths to inner peace and compassion.
