Whether you’re in need of service hours for one of Gannon’s clubs or looking for a way to pass the time during the school year, volunteering is a great way to help out in the community. The Inner-City Neighborhood Art House is a non-profit organization that focuses on ensuring an educational and friendly atmosphere for the less fortunate children of Erie. What makes this such a great opportunity?
Volunteering allows students to become more involved with different skills that aren’t learned in a classroom environment. Serving at the Art House provides creative indoor activities, provides a family friendly atmosphere, and is wheelchair accessible.
What type of work does this involve?
The Art House offers a wide range of positions for students. Clerical work like working at the front desk and even answering phone calls are available. Other positions like classroom aides and general program aides are open too.
What are the days and hours available?
Volunteer opportunities are mainly available during the school year at the Art House, however there may be positions opened during the summer. General hours to serve are from 3:00 to 5:15 pm. Be sure to report to the front desk between 2:00 to 3:00 pm on the days that you are volunteering!
