10 – 11 a.m. | Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise: A Mid-Morning Snack Break Experience, Recreation and Wellness Center Fresh Café As Ben Franklin once said, “Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.” You were up early this morning so you’re on the right track according to Ben. Now it’s time to take a moment to reenergize with a mid-morning snack! Join our First- Year Seminar (FYS) instructors for an informal meet and greet in the Recreation and Wellness Center Café. As a bonus, your name will be entered in a drawing for a Fitbit device to measure data such as the number of steps walked, quality of sleep, steps climbed, and other personal metrics. We’re ready to serve you in the pursuit of health, wealth, and wisdom!

10 a.m. – Noon | Come Explore and Experience Fun! | Recreation and Wellness Center Do you love a good dodgeball game? Or is volleyball your thing? Join in the fun at the Recreation and Wellness Center (RWC) along with your RA or CA and fellow classmates and enjoy a pick-up game or explore all the RWC has to offer you! Be sure to stop by the Recreation and Wellness Center Fresh Café to meet your FYS instructor, too!

2:30 – 4 p.m. | SWEAT or CHILL | Recreation and Wellness Center This event will have your choice to be CHALLENGED or RELAX at the Recreation and Wellness Center. We will have a Chill Lounge with an oxygen bar, massages and tips on how to manage stress your first semester! The SWEAT challenge will be for those who want a high intensity, Boot Camp style fitness experience including plyometrics and dynamic strength training circuits. Choose your afternoon… We are ready to host you to either SWEAT or CHILL!

2:30 – 4 p.m. | The Knight Club Play Pool, watch TV or just relax at Gannon’s Student Hangout.

3 – 4 p.m. | FYE PLAY | Schuster Theatre Bust a move with the Altar Boyz, a Christian boy band out to save the souls of all incoming first year students – a tongue-in-cheek musical to spark laughter and spirit! Performed by Gannon theatre and non-theatre students! Attendance at one of the showings is required for your first year seminar

4:30 – 6 p.m. | Commuter Meeting | Zurn 104 This important meeting will show you what you can do to make the most out of your Gannon experience! Get helpful information while getting to know other commuter students. Head on over to IgKNIGHT immediately afterward to start exploring all the great organizations you can join. Required for all Commuter Students

4:30 – 6 p.m. | Dinner | Beyer Hall Cafeteria Tonight’s dinner will celebrate Leadership! Join student leaders from across the University in Club LaRiccia (the downstairs of the cafeteria) to hear about their leadership experiences, network with people from across campus, and begin your journey as a student who will make the world a better place.

6 – 7:30 p.m. | IgKNIGHT Activities Fair | AJ’s Way and Friendship Green Your college experience outside the classroom begins here! Ignite your inner leader as you enter into a network of 100+ possibilities for student engagement. Explore these opportunities and sign up for the ones that will help you explore your interests, challenge yourself and shape the college experience you want to create for yourself! Both new and returning Gannon Knights are welcome to join this festival, to connect with one another and get fired up for the school year! Amazing activities include:

  • Dive-in Movie | Recreation and Wellness Center Grab your bathing suits/goggles and get ready, because we are heading down to “in an-emone-ne, anem-menem, anemone, ANEMONE!” Don’t worry if you have a bad fin, you don’t have to swim to join in. One thing that we just ask is…just remember fish are friends, not food.
