Every year around Valentine’s Day, groups of singing Gannon students can be seen running around downtown Erie with laptops. If you’re having trouble thinking of what to buy for your special someone this Valentine’s Day, try a Singing Valentine. It’s a unique idea that directly benefits the Schuster Theatre and allows you the chance to do something different to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year.

Singing Valentines, a yearly aural treat, are back at Gannon this year, as members of the Gannon University Mixed Chorus will be delivering specially selected songs to unsuspecting people around the Erie Community on February 14.

Delivering a Singing Valentine on-campus costs $5. Off-campus delivery costs $10. There is a list of nine songs (Lean on Me, What Makes You Beautiful, Just the Way You Are, Lucky, I’m Yours, Rhythm of Love, Love is an Open Door, Boom Clap, All of Me) to choose from and the sender can include a brief message to go with the song.

This year, Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday, so teams will also be sent out on Friday Feb. 13, to deliver Valentines to offices in the downtown Erie area.

Anyone wishing to purchase a Singing Valentine can call 814-419-LOVE (5683). Payment can be mailed to Brianna Woods, the student leading this project, PMB# 1696. Students wishing to purchase a Valentine for someone in class must obtain permission from the teacher ahead of time. Any valentines ordered after Feb. 10 will be $7 on campus, $15 off-campus.
