Personally, I do my best to live a non-wasteful lifestyle.
However, I am aware that I come up short sometimes and can do better. Luckily for me, there’s a dear friend of mine and student on campus who is AMAZING at living a sustainable lifestyle.
Julia is part of Gannon University’s T.R.A.V.E.L. program, and is leading a trip to Costa Rica this upcoming May. In general, T.R.A.V.E.L. groups meet every so often to discuss a wide variety of topics with faculty and then travel to the destination of their choice.
This program is geared to allow for students to gain leadership experience, build relationships with other students, and learn about different cultures. Her and the group of students involved in this trip meet regularly to learn about sustainability.
Julia McGregor, a junior pre-medicine biology major, is giving a speech on sustainability including reducing plastic, food, and clothing waste. She will be discussing tips and tricks on how to live a sustainable lifestyle as well as provide local and natural resources.
Her speech is this Thursday, April 26 at 5031 West Ridge Road, Erie PA at 6:00pm. Come learn about different ways that you can waste less and work towards bettering the environment.
