open-houseWould you like to meet with Gannon faculty members and take a tour of the campus? Do you have questions about summer orientation, student housing or the FAFSA form? Gannon’s Spring Open House, on Sunday April 18, is the perfect way to accomplish all of this in one stop. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

According to Emily Kleps, assistant director of admissions, any student who is interested in attending Gannon, whether as an undergraduate, transfer or adult student, should come to Open House.

“For seniors in high school, this is a chance for them to make their final decisions,” she said. “I encourage sophomores and juniors to come get a good feel for Gannon.”

Throughout the day, students have the opportunity to attend mass at Gannon’s Mary, Seat of Wisdom Chapel and meet with Gannon faculty, students and administrators. There are scheduled opportunities to meet with student development representatives, faculty members, admissions and financial aid. Beyond the scheduled events, tours of campus and Erie will be offered.

“Students should expect to do anything they want to,” said Kleps. “They can meet with faculty, any student club or organization on campus, tour any building, meet the president or hop on a trolley and see Erie.”

Junior theology major Danielle Wagner attended Gannon’s Spring Open house as a senior in high school, and said that prior to the event she was unsure about attending Gannon, but Open House solidified her decision to attend Gannon.

“Open House shows a different side of the campus that you don’t get on a regular tour,” she said. “The experience was really beneficial.”

Wagner said the most helpful parts of the day for her were the financial aid session and meeting with the Rev. Casimir Wozniak, a theology professor.

Kleps said she encourages interested high school students to come with their parents.

“A lot of times students get a good social feel for Gannon, she said, “and parents have good questions about financial aid and academic requirements.”
