A lot of people come to Gannon to get closer to Jesus. It’s actually pretty easy; he is right outside the Waldron Campus Center.

Located in the middle of the campus is a life-size statue of Jesus as he sits conversing with some students. Dennis McConnell, class of 1970, funded its construction. He dedicated it to his parents, thanking them for their emotional, spiritual and financial support during his time at Gannon. Around campus, “Meet me at Jesus” is a common phrase students use to meet up with each other.

The statue holds a scroll that reads Matthew 5:14: “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” It’s a quiet reminder that we all have a bright future.
