I had a very “The Mamas & the Papas” week last week. (You know, “Monday, Monday / Can’t trust that day…”) The chorus of “Monday, Monday” played on repeat in my head. It’s certainly a day that I don’t really care to trust. And really, every other day of the week is fine.

Besides Monday, the week before midterms was a whirlwind. I can’t even begin to remember the events, as they were a blur of studying, performing in “The Children’s Hour” and sleeping. I certainly anticipated spring break, not only because I now have down time, but because I’m traveling.

For spring break, I’ve taken a trip to California – cue “California Dreaming.” I had the opportunity to visit before, but I never really get to know the state. This time around I get to see the northern half. I’m spending time with friends and traveling all around. (I hope Disneyland is included.) The weather is in the low 70s, so I may not be coming back.

Last week (the week of midterms) was a lot of work. There were so many loose ends to tie up. Even though I managed to tie them all up, this break is more of a catch-up session. I’m okay with that, though. Sometimes that’s all that can be done.

The important part of college life is keeping a goal in sight. I just have to keep reminding myself that all of the work and deadlines will be over soon. All will be fine shortly.
